Aalto University is inviting applications for Postdoctoral researchers in Artificial Intelligence. The positions are affiliated with Aalto University House of AI, a new centre for research of artificial intelligence and its multidisciplinary applications in science and technology, business, and art.
We are looking for people who have a strong background in AI fundamentals, including machine learning, optimization algorithms and statistics, and who have interest in developing methods in combination with exciting applications in other sciences. Examples of method development could be time-series analysis and physics-informed machine learning. The postdoctoral position allows the successful applicant to choose a flexible balance between methods and applications of AI.
The candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in a relevant area, or to be close to completing one. Good command of English is needed.
In this call, we especially invite candidates who are interested in working on two of our thematic areas:
1. AI methods and applications in Biomedicine
2. AI in the energy system, with a focus on electricity networks.
However, we welcome excellent applications outside these application focus areas as well.
