Two (2) Doctoral Researcher Positions at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management of Aalto University
The Department of Industrial Engineering and Management (DIEM) of Aalto University School of Science conducts world-class research and provides education that focus on the creation and transformation of technology-based business. The department is seeking to hire Doctoral Researchers to new areas of research within the department’s three strategic focus areas:
Organizational Design and Leadership, Operations and Service Management, and Strategy and Venturing. Our internationally acknowledged research and close collaboration with industry are the foundations of our highly recognized teaching and research. Our faculty publishes continuously in the most highly ranked academic journals, engages actively in top-tier academic conferences, and serves on the editorial board of leading journals. The track record of Aalto’s Industrial Engineering and Management Doctors is excellent. Our academic placements include, among others, Stanford University, Imperial College Business School, University of Southern California, IE Business School, Rotterdam School of Management, McGill University, and Sungkyunkwan University. Full-time doctoral researcher position at DIEM
The positions require undertaking studies and conducting empirical research at the doctoral level. The positions’ contract supports up to four years of full-time employment to complete the doctoral studies and the doctoral dissertation. The employment and doctoral student admission decisions are made in May/June, and the new doctoral researchers are expected to start in September 2024. The employment will be two years full-time for the first contract, which, based on a successful mid-term review, can be extended by two years to cover the rest of the doctoral studies. The Doctoral Program at Aalto University Department of Industrial Engineering and Management is intended for candidates with an excellent academic background who are highly motivated to pursue a full-time doctoral program and produce research of the highest international level. Applicants must fulfill the admission requirements to the Aalto Doctoral Programme of Science. Good command of English is a prerequisite.
