Postdoctoral Position – Qunatum Computing Algorithms for Turbulent Flows
A postdoc position is available with a start date of the beginning of 2025 in the Computational and Theoretical Multiphysics Lab (https://web1.eng.famu.fsu.edu/~kshoele/CTML) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the FAMu-FSU joint College of Engineering related to use of stochastic homogenization and quantum computing approaches to simulate turbulent flows.
The following skills/certifications/interests are relevant to the position:
- Interest in turbulent flows and quantum computing
- A PhD degree in engineering(especially mechanical and aero) or related fields (applied mathematics, physics, computational physics).
- Relevant previous research experience in turbulent flows and large eddy simulation. Desirable research skills include quantum computing, programming skills and stochastic analysis.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Track record of publications and scientific outputs and the ability to work independently.
This is a multi-year appointment, with yearly renewal depending on performance. To apply, please submit the following to Dr. Kourosh Shoele (kshoele-at-fsu-dot-edu):
- A short cover letter describing your relevant experience, interests, and availability to start.
- A resume that includes a list of education, publications, and work experience.
- A list of two to three references.
Please include the phrase “PostDoc-Quantum” in the subject line of the email.
