Postdoctoral research in software engineering
Work description
- Collaborating with partners to assess real-world needs and objectives and develop actionable plans to drive research and engineering outcomes.
- Extension and valorization of previous research results.
- Mentoring software engineering researchers, including graduate and undergraduate students.
- Communicating intermediate and final research results, including presentations and publication in conferences and journals.
- Building connections with industry and other research groups both within and outside of INESC TEC.
Academic Qualifications
- PhD in Informatics, Informatics Engineering or related areas
Minimum profile required
- A Ph.D. in Software Engineering or in a closely related discipline.
- A proven record of articles published in peer-reviewed software engineering conferences and journals.
- Experience conducting empirical studies in software engineering.
- Solid understanding of software engineering in general, including Software Architecture, Object-Oriented Programming, teamwork, and managing scope and expectations in software projects.
- Research experience on the topic of microservices/cloud-native architectures.
Preference factors
- Research experience in one or more of the topics: Architectural Evolution, Architectural Visualization, Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, Developer Experience (DX), Patterns, LLM-supported Software Engineering, and Agile Methods.
- Experience in the health domain, data quality, or data privacy.
Salary Level
In accordance with article 15 of the RJEC and article 2 of Regulatory Decree no. 11-A/2017, of 29 December, the gross monthly base remuneration to be awarded is based on remuneration level 1 of the Investigador Auxiliar category of the Public Scientific Research Career Statute, with INESC TEC applying its own remuneration table for R&D doctoral employees, with a value of €3488.49 for the equivalent category.
