Search for Department Chair, Electrical and Computer Engineering

The College of Engineering (CoE, https://www.coe.miami.edu/ ) at the University of Miami invites nominations and applications for the Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The Department is housed in the College of Engineering and complements five other existing Departments. The College is committed to growing the Department. The position will offer opportunities to hire several new faculty, promote the strategic initiatives of the College and develop joint initiatives with several other units at the University, including the Frost Institute for Data Science and Computing, the Miller School of Medicine, the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric and Earth Science, and others. The successful candidate will be tenured in the College of Engineering and joint appointments with other university departments are also possible. The search is open to candidates with expertise in any of the areas of electrical and computer engineering.
Candidates should have an earned Ph.D. in a relevant engineering or science discipline and should have extensive research and teaching experience at a level sufficient to qualify for appointment to the rank of Full Professor with tenure. We are seeking an individual who has previous demonstrated success in academic leadership and presents a vision to create a vibrant department and enterprise, consistent with the mission and vision of the College of Engineering and working with faculty staff and students of diverse background to foster a collegial environment.
