Mechanics of materials, particularly constitutive relations, and include both experiments and modeling. The metallic materials of interest are titanium matrix composites, aluminum matrix composites, superalloys, and ausformed austempered ductile iron. There are two areas of interest: how to process the material to obtain optimal properties, and how to mathematically represent the stress-strain response of a material. I am interested in inelastic material response associated with viscoplasticity and the evolution of internal damage due to multiaxial loading over a wide range of temperatures.
