Main areas are Digital Signal Processing and Digital Image Processing. This involves the development of high performance multiprocessor implementation of computational algorithms under the constraints of VLSI environment. Based on this approach, several architectures have been developed for the implementation of 1-D and 2-D digital filters, and block state-space image processing.
Research plan involves the extension of this approach to VLSI multiprocessor implementation of high demanding computational algorithms in the areas of Communication Systems, Computer Vision, and Control Systems.
Current interests also involve the development of effective algorithms in Video Motion Estimation and Pattern Recognition and Classification.
