Broad scope of multidisciplinary practices involving the latest advances in optical diagnostic techniques. These include quantitative/qualitative visualization of fluid and heat transfer fields, combustion/emission nondestructive testing. Not only is he in a unique position to develop these cutting-edge techniques, but to also apply them in characterizing various mechanical phenomena. Current activities are concentrated on holographic tomographic interferometry, phase-shift interferometry, particle/image velocimetry, and spectroscopy for gross flow-field measurements. The tasks require investigations in computational tomography, digital image processing, signal processing, and optics as well as appropriate hardware developments.
