  • Design and scale-up of multiphase reactors, such as bubble columns, slurry bubble-columns, high-pressure/temperature stirred vessels, membrane reactors, and trickle-bed reactors; Measurements of the hydrodynamic and mass transfer characteristics in various chemical processes, including Fischer-Tropsch/methanol synthesis, cyclohexane/toluene/benzoic acid oxidation processes, propylene polymerization, and soybean oil hydrogenation; Modeling and optimization of these chemical processes; Characterization of metallic membranes for high-temperature advanced processes; Kinetic studies, modeling, and optimization of the regeneration step in a two-step advanced dry-sorbent process for simultaneous removal of Nox and Sox from flue gas; Mobility control in CO2-flooding using polymers and other chemical additives.
