Joshi-Mukherjee’s research is focused on pushing the limits of cardiac network electrophysiology detection from the same cell site to study membrane biological systems. Her group develops state-of-the-art human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived heart cell constructs and studies biophysical properties using multielectrode array technology. Her team combines novel non-invasive electroporation approach to gain access to monitor biophysical properties of the membrane over days. Probing these cardiac networks allows the researchers to not only decipher development mediated membrane electrophysiological changes but also unravel key regulators of drug-induced arrhythmia and cardiotoxicity. Novel methods are implemented for data visualization and automated high-throughput data analysis.
