My group develops sensors that help solve critical problems. Typically, we use swept-wavelength lasers to measure gas properties at kHz rates in various combustion systems such as reciprocating and aeropropulsion engines, but we also work more broadly in the energy space as well as in other areas including atmospheric chemistry and biomedical imaging. We have expertise in laser design, fiber optics, miniaturization, data processing, and control.
