Expertise: He has been working in modeling, simulation and analysis of multi-functional materials across different length scales. Examples of these materials include shape memory alloys, ferroelectrics, piezoelectric materials and lithium ion battery. He is investigating how microstructures determine the macroscopic physical behaviors and how to design materials that exhibits special properties for various applications. He is also interested in the application of finite element analysis in other aspects of engineering such as devices, structures and vehicles
