Dr. Goodsell’s research interests are in the field of validation of models for composites manufacturing and performance. Since completion of his PhD in 2013 with Professor R. Byron Pipes, Dr. Goodsell has served as a Visiting Assistant Professor and Research Assistant Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University. He is currently advising one PhD student as PI on a program with Spirit Aerosystems investigating the performance impact of porosity resulting from the composites manufacturing process. He also serves as Director of Validation in the Composites Manufacturing and Simulation Center, where he leads experimental validation efforts in the Purdue-based Design, Modeling and Simulation Technology Area for IACMI. The Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI), is the 5th national manufacturing institute (NNMI), and is a multi-state, multi-institution program sponsored by the Department of Energy.
