Assistant Professor, Bioengineering
Primary Purpose of Position
The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate level courses; managing a successful extramurally funded research program in the area of biomedical systems modeling; student advising, mentoring and recruitment; conducting scholarly activities and other activities required for tenure and a successful and evolving academic career.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, engaging in accreditation procedures, program assessment and service to the Department, College and University as needed.

North Carolina A & T State University is a public land grant university. The College of Engineering, with over 1,900 students, has B.S. programs in Architectural, Bioengineering, Biological, Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Industrial and Systems, and Mechanical Engineering which are accredited by the EAC Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org
and a B.S. program in Computer Science accredited by the CAC Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org

The Department of Chemical, Biological, and Bio- Engineering offers ABET-accredited Bachelors of Science programs in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, and Biological Engineering, and offers Masters of Science programs in Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering. The Department has 16 full-time faculty members, 4 staff members and 2 adjunct faculty members. Research includes the NSF Engineering Research Center for Revolutionizing Metallic Biomaterials, the NSF CREST Bioenergy Center and the NSF RED project, "A Revolution in Engineering Education Motivated by Needs and Designs," as well as a range of research programs that engineer solutions for problems in healthcare, energy and the environment. The successful applicant must possess a PhD in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related field at the time of appointment; and have experience in conducting excellent and cutting-edge research in bioengineering.

Applicants having postdoctoral experience and evidence of independent research potential are preferred.
