We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team focused on advancing cyberinfrastructure for data curation, retrieval, sharing, and analytics. The successful candidate will work on developing scalable, web-based data storage and sharing platforms for the engineering research community.

Position Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement a scalable cyberinfrastructure platform.
• Collaborate with researchers to optimize the system for evolving research needs.
• Contribute to publications, reports, and presentations summarizing key findings.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students working on related projects.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

1. Technical Skills:
   • Expertise in software development for data-intensive systems (e.g., Python, Java, etc.).
   • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
   • Knowledge and experience of data-centric machine learning algorithms and Natural Language Processing, particularly Large Language Models.
   • Experience with database design, metadata management, and search/retrieval systems.
   • Proficiency in web-based system development (e.g., Flask, Django, React).
2. Relevant Research Background:
   • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
   • Experience in cyberinfrastructure development or scalable systems.
   • Familiarity with scientific workflows and tools for experimental or simulation data management.

Position Details

• Duration: One year with the potential for renewal upon mutual agreement.
• Location: University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
• Start Date: Flexible, with a preference for January 2025

About the Team

This position will bridge between the Complex Fluids and Multiphase Transport Laboratory and the Data-Centric Intelligence Laboratory within the Department of Mechanical & Materials Engineering at the University of Cincinnati.
