Job Description: The Department of Biomedical and Chemical Engineering (BMCE) at Syracuse University (http://bmce.syr.edu/) is seeking applicants for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor rank. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering or a closely related discipline.Priority research directions include process systems engineering and machine learning/AI-enabled innovations in chemical engineering, computational modeling of complex systems, advanced materials, electrochemistry, catalysis, and transport processes in complex fluids. Candidates should demonstrate commitments to collaborative, cross-disciplinary research; to excellence in teaching; and to fostering diversity and inclusion. The BMCE Department offers B.S. (ABET-accredited), M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in biomedical engineering and chemical engineering. There are currently 21 full-time faculty members, approximately 200 undergraduate students and 75 graduate students of which 60 are doctoral students. Start date of August 25, 2025.
Qualifications: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct original research, publish in peer-reviewed journals, present at academic conferences, and contribute to advancing knowledge in their field
- Teach courses, mentor and advise students, and oversee research projects
- Secure external funding through grants to support research activities, including lab operations, graduate student support, and long-term projects
- Foster inclusive climate in research and teaching activities
- Participate in department, college, and university governance, serving on committees, contributing to curriculum development, and supporting student organizations
- Engage with professional societies professional community through outreach and leadership roles
