At SBS, our research spans various areas, including infectious diseases, immunology, neurodegenerative diseases, telomere biology, and genome function. Over the years, SBS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.

Join the laboratory of Dr Claudio Bussi at the School of Biological Sciences. We are seeking a Project Officer to contribute to a project focused on the role of organelle dynamics in microglial cell function. The Bussi Lab, a newly established laboratory at SBS, is looking for a motivated candidate with excellent organizational skills. This individual will contribute to setting up the lab while being trained in advanced molecular and cell biology techniques, such as proximity labeling proteomics and super-resolution imaging.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Principal Investigator and team members to perform experiments, document results, and analyse data.

  • Assist purchasing of equipment, materials and consumables and provide general supports for the lab.

  • Maintain accurate records of cell lines, plasmids, and other reagents and materials in the lab.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Chemical Biology/Engineering or related fields.

  • Prior research experience is preferred.

  • Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques such as pipetting, media preparation, and buffer preparation.

  • Experience and working knowledge in molecular cloning, basic eukaryotic cell culture techniques or iPSCs and confocal imaging is preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English as required to document results.
