The Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering within the School of Computing and Engineering (SCE) at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) is seeking applicants for a non-tenure-track faculty position in Civil or Mechanical Engineering at the Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor level (starting in September 2019). For the non-tenure-track position, the candidate will be expected to teach the CAD courses required for all engineering degrees with expertise in AutoCad and SolidWorks. The qualified candidate should also be familiar with 3-D printing (additive manufacturing). Candidates need to hold a Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s/Engineering Technology degree equivalency and tested advanced expertise in CAD through training, industrial or other experience. The position is a three-quarter time (9-month) appointment encompassing the academic year. The successful candidate will be expected to: (1) have a strong commitment to quality undergraduate engineering education; (2) teach courses in the undergraduate CME program; (3) maintain an outstanding record of educational and professional leadership; (4) engage in departmental, school, and/or university service activities appropriate to the position; and (5) advance the goals and strategic plan of SCE and UMKC.
