The Department of Electronics and Nanoengineering conducts research and arranges related courses in the fields of electromagnetics, micro and nanotechnology, radio engineering, and space technology. The department research groups have active national and international collaboration with several institutes and companies. Research groups are working with world-class research facilities and instruments; the largest clean rooms in the Nordic countries are located in the Micro- and nanotechnology centre Micronova.

PROJECT WORKER - SOFTWARE ENGINEER / DEVELOPER FOR HEALTHCARE INNOVATION

Join the cutting-edge of healthcare technology with Urisens at Aalto University, a dynamic Research to Business project, supported by Business Finland and Aalto University. Our mission is to bring to market a groundbreaking urine sensor technology designed to enhance disabled and elderly care.
Urisens with its advanced sensor technology, provides a non-invasive, real-time solution for monitoring adult diapers, ensuring dignity and improving care for users, while offering actionable insights for healthcare providers.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll apply your software development skills to improve elderly care, focusing on:
  • Developing software for displaying, cloud connection, data acquisition and processing from our innovative urine sensors.
  • Crafting interfaces to integrate sensor technology with healthcare applications.
  • Implementing user-friendly applications for caregivers and patients, facilitating effective disabled and elderly care.
  • While machine learning is a component of our technology, your broader software engineering skills will be vital in bringing our solutions to life.


What We Offer

This role is based at Aalto University for the duration of the project until end of May 2024, with flexibility in terms of engagement (full-time or part-time) based on your expertise and aspirations.

Who We're Looking For

We seek a motivated and capable human being with a keen interest in healthcare technology and an entrepreneurial spirit, capable of turning innovative ideas into practical solutions quickly.
 
Your qualifications should include:
  • Solid experience in software development, User Interface, and Cloud Database
  • Familiarity with data processing and analysis techniques.
  • An understanding of basic machine learning / AI concepts applied as needed.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
