Job Description

Postdoctoral Associate, Environmental Sustainability Laboratory, Stevens Institute of Technology

Plans and conducts assigned and/or original environmental research projects under the guidance of Prof. Dibs Sarkar in the Environmental Sustainability Laboratory while working collaboratively with other postdocs (4 currently) and doctoral students (5 currently). Will work on two federally funded projects applying green technologies for remediation of PFAS-contaminated soils and water (75%), and stormwater management and green infrastructure design (25%). Responsibilities include conducting experiments, performing data analysis, brainstorming problems and finding solutions, writing agency reports, presenting results in conferences and scientific meeting, helping Prof. Sarkar write new proposals, etc.

Position will start on March 1. Stevens Institute of Technology offers excellent benefits including health insurance and free tuition for spouses and children.

Education: PhD in environment-related technical, scientific, or engineering discipline with specialization in soil and water remediation. Candidates with a PhD in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, environmental geochemistry, or environmental soil chemistry will be preferred. Strong analytical and communication skills are required.
