The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Utah (https://www.che.utah.edu) invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of assistant professor. Exceptional candidates will also be considered at associate or full professor ranks, commensurate with experience. Successful candidates are expected to develop dynamic, externally funded research programs that lead to national and international recognition, and to demonstrate excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related field.

We seek the best available candidates with research strengths focusing in the broad areas of energy-related research (especially sustainable/renewable energy), the interface between chemical engineering and medicine, and semiconductor materials, processing or applications. Candidates with research focused on theoretical, computational, and/or experimental aspects of these fields are all welcomed.

The department has grown significantly in recent years and we have a dynamic faculty of 25 with about 60 students at each level in our undergraduate curriculum and over 75 graduate students. Our department fosters a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. Our faculty work closely with other departments on campus as well as with the Energy and Geoscience Institute, Huntsman Cancer Institute, University Hospital, School of Medicine, and Nuclear Engineering Program. Faculty members have access to an extensive array of core research facilities distributed between the main University and the adjacent Health Sciences campus, including a state-of-the-art nanofabrication facility and surface analysis core. The Center for High Performance Computing provides advanced high performance computational resources, technical support, and training for individuals in simulation science.
