The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow (Engineer, 3D Printer Hardware Developer).
Key Responsibilities:
The Research Fellow will be responsible for completing the construction and development of multi-material micro-nano 3D printers (experimental platforms) based on new processes, and to realize the manufacture and application of parts.

Design the mechanical structure, control system architecture scheme, CAD model slicing scheme of the new multi-material micro-nano 3D printer, and complete the construction and development of the mechanical system;

Based on the mechanical structure of the designed multi-material micro-nano 3D printer and the required process route, the automation of the system is realized, and the coupling development of the multi-material micro-nano 3D printer machinery and control system is completed;

Realize the successful manufacture and application exploration of multi-material composite parts with complex shapes;

Technical write up and presentation.
Job Requirements:

PhD Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Automation/Control/Material Processing/Robotics.

Experience in Design, construction and system integration of complex precision mechanical equipment.

Experience in Additive manufacturing process and materials based on vat light curing (SLA, DLP).

Preferably with experience or research experience building 3D printers from the ground up.

Experience in C/C++ programming for embedded system and Machine GUI Design.

Experience in development of SLA, DLP 3D printer (experimental platform);

Experience in Preparation and application of functional polymers

Experience in Solve practical engineering problems in the process of automation equipment development

A team player and technically motivated to solve problems.
