The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Auburn University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track lecturer beginning with the Fall 2020 semester. This appointment is for a minimum of nine months, with potential opportunities for summer funding, and is renewable annually. The main responsibility of this position is to primarily teach a fundamentals of electrical engineering course to engineering students outside of the department. The successful candidate is expected to bring experience, innovation, enthusiasm, and technology to this course. A typical teaching load will be three courses per semester, which includes course preparation and delivery. In addition to instructional duties, successful candidates will contribute to the instructional mission of the department through participation on faculty committees. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Lecturers have the potential for promotion to Senior Lecturer after five years of employment in which exceptional teaching ability and extraordinary value to the institution is demonstrated.
A Ph.D. in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering is required at the time of employment. We seek candidates who have demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching. Excellent communication skills are required. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
