Job Description
Plans and conducts assigned and/or original research projects autonomously while working collaboratively with faculty, staff, postdocs and students. Education: PhD in related technical, scientific or engineering discipline. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
The postdoctoral researcher is expected to work on the following tasks:
- Contribute to the evaluation and enhancement of Stevens Flood Advisory System (SFAS)
- Contribute to the deployment of SFAS and its operation in the cloud and the HPC. This will involve, among others, working on weather and hydrodynamic models and their coupling.
- Work on and contribute to other ongoing projects funded by NOAA and NASA in collaboration with iSMART team members and the broader Davidson Lab researchers.
- Lead and help in the writing of research proposals.
- Write and publish quality research papers.
- The postdoctoral researcher is encouraged to work with graduate students and contribute to their mentorship.
