In 2013, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) jointly established the Air Traffic Management Research Institute (ATMRI) in Singapore, with the vision to set up a renowned ATM research institute, finding innovative solutions, and catalysing an ATM transformation in the region. ATMRI is currently leading cutting-edge research on ATM, with the vision to facilitate next-generation ATM by developing advanced AI and Data Analytics.

 

ATMI is inviting applications for the position of Research Associate. The Research Associate will be part of a research team to study the use of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics in Air Traffic Management Systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support research and development related to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applied to Air Traffic Control and Air Traffic Management.

  • Develop algorithms and models (Deep Learning/Deep Reinforcement Learning), perform data mining, doing analytics for future for Air Traffic Control Operations.

  • Develop prototypes and intelligent tools for Air traffic management.

  • Support Principal Investigator/Team Lead with project management activities and preparation of progress reports.

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with industrial and academic partners.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Operation Research or equivalent.

  • Experience in programming and have excellent knowledge of Python Programming Languages.

  • Demonstrated project experience related to applied Machine Learning, Data Mining, Air Traffic Control or Air Traffic Management

  • Publication in peer-reviewed conferences and/or journals related to Machine Learning/Air Traffic Management.

  • Good English writing and communication skills

  • Able to work independently and be a team player
