INESC TEC is now accepting grant applications to award 1 Research Grant (BI) within the scope of the project
K2D, cofunded by the ERDF - European Regional Development Fund, through the Operational Programme for
Competitiveness and Internationalisation - COMPETE 2020 Programme and by National Funds through the FCT -
Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P. on the scope of the MIT Portugal Program on the scope of

- Type of grant: Research Grant (BI)
- General scientific area: ENGINEERING
- Scientific subarea: Computer engineering
- Grant duration: 6 months, starting on 2023-01-01, with the possibility of being renewed until the end of the project.
- Scientific advisor: Bruno Miguel Ferreira
- Workplace: INESC TEC, Porto, Portugal
- Maintenance stipend: € 1144,64, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants
(, paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential
supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of
INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend. INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms
established in the internal document: "Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders". The grant holder will benefit from health insurance, supported by INESC TEC.

Execution of technical tasks and support for the management of the project, as well as the management and
implementation of R&D projects and knowledge enhancement, preparation of R&D project applications, team
management and guidance of junior researchers, journal-oriented scientific production and international
conferences, intervention in the scientific and professional communities, and also coordination and participation
in scientific and technological dissemination initiatives, particularly in the areas of robotics, underwater
acoustics, or computer systems.

- Carrying out research tasks on the subject of the project and training in conducting research and development

- Development and implementation of autonomous submarine vehicle operations planning algorithms in
data collection and support missions, scientific production oriented to international journals and conferences.
Intervention in the scientific and professional communities. Participation in scientific and technological
dissemination initiatives, particularly in relevant areas.

- Writing of scientific articles with description of methods and analysis of results. Writing of the Grant activity

Admission requirements:
- Master in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field.
- The awarding of the fellowship is dependent on the applicants' enrolment in study cycle or non-award courses of
Higher Education Institutions.

Preference factors:
- Programming experience in C/C++; teaching experience in higher education.

Minimum requirements:
Enrolled in the PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering or similar areas.
