The Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science in the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota seeks to hire a part-time (50%) adjunct research assistant professor (9403AR) to assist in research on polymer/polymer multi-layer research.The successful candidate will be expected to carry out research on polymer multi-layers, how the layer structure affects properties, particularly mechanical, gas barrier and rheological properties. He/she/they will design an experimental program and train other researchers. In addition, the adjunct faculty member should continue personal growth within the profession, keep current within the field, and broaden his/her/their knowledge and expertise of chemical engineering concepts. Required qualifications: Ph.D. in chemical engineering or a closely related field, knowledge of polymer physics and rheology and previous polymer co-extrusion experience. Preferred qualifications: Demonstrated excellence in multilayer co-extrusion and polymer/polymer adhesion.
