The Institute for Visualization and Interactive Systems (VIS) and the Visualization Research Center (VISUS) of the University of Stuttgart, Germany invite applications for positions for a

Doctoral and Postdoctoral Researcher
in Visual Analytics and Scientific Visualization in one of the following areas and projects:
- Visual Analytics for Cyber Security
- Visual Analytics for Post-Silicon Validation
- Visualization of Droplet Liquid Interaction
- Quantifying Visual Computing Systems
- Flow Visualization

VIS and VISUS are vibrant places for internationally recognized research in visualization, visual analytics, VR&AR, computer vision and HCI offering great opportunities for discussion and collaboration with many other researchers in a wide range of disciplines in an excellent technically-oriented university. Applicants should have completed a M.Sc. (or a PhD in case of the Postdoc positions) or equivalent degree in computer science or a closely related discipline with very good results. We expect previous experience in visual analytics, visualization, computer graphics, or visual computing – ideally, also in the research areas of the projects listed above – as well as excellent programming skills and a high level of proficiency in both spoken and written English. Applicants will be offered a 3-year contract as full-time research assistant (TV-L 13) in the VIS or VISUS groups under the supervision of Prof. Thomas Ertl (
