Requirements & Qualifications for the Post-Doctoral Fellow:
A recent Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with focus on electrical power systems with emphasis on distribution system modeling and analysis.
The ideal candidate will have experience with:
(1) Development and/or utilization of OpenDSS-based co-simulation frameworks for distribution planning and advanced DER hosting capacity studies. These studies may include local and system-wide DER technology impact on distribution system with smart inverter functions or/and EV impact assessment followed by mitigation solutions and hosting capacity enhancement strategies.
(2) Real-time simulations using Typhoon HIL and CHIL studies. Experience with developing multi-domain co-simulation framework using Typhoon HIL is a big plus. Similar experience with other EMT-based real-time software will be considered.
Duration: One year starting immediately; renewable up to 3 years depending on performance and availability of funding.
