Job Summary
The Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering (MCE) at Purdue University Northwest (PNW) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a 9-month academic appointment beginning in Fall 2025. The successful candidate will engage in teaching, research, and service activities, including 1) teaching courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels; 2) mentoring and advising undergraduate students on senior design projects and master’s students on thesis research; 3) developing and maintaining a nationally recognized research program and securing extramural funding to support their research initiatives; and 4) providing service to Department/College/University/professional community. To qualify for appointment at the Associate Professor rank candidates must demonstrate a record of scholarship, funded research, and experience as an instructor and student mentor.
Education
A Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a closely related field is required. The degree must be earned by August 12, 2025.
