The Department of Computer Engineering and Sciences at Florida Tech is seeking
applications for a tenure-track faculty position beginning August 2022. Preference
is for the Assistant Professor level, but other levels will be considered. Required
qualifications for the position include an earned Ph.D. in electrical engineering.
Successful candidates are expected to perform undergraduate and graduate
teaching, pursue an active research program, and advise undergraduate and
graduate students. Candidates should have teaching and research experience in
areas such as electric/electronic circuits, analog and digital electronics,
semiconductor devices and control systems. Moreover, candidates should have an
established record of outstanding-quality research publications and a
commitment for excellence in teaching. Strong oral and written communication
skills are also required.
The department has ABET accredited programs in Computer Engineering,
Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Software Engineering, and receives
significant active research funding from a number of government agencies and
industry partners. Florida Tech is located in Melbourne on Florida’s Space Coast,
one of the nation’s fastest growing high-tech areas. A number of major
corporations have a local presence, including General Electric, L3Harris, Northrop
Grumman, and Raytheon. The campus is 5 minutes from the Indian River estuary,
only 10 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean and 50 minutes from both Kennedy Space
