Energy systems – energy systems modelling

 

Work description

  • Characterization of different energy systems modelling tools and existing models at the national and regional levels.
  • Development of energy systems models, both at national and regional levels.
  • Collection, processing, and analysis of data related to energy consumption, production, and efficiency.
  • Definition and analysis of future scenarios for implementing decarbonization policies.
  • Validation of the developed models using real-data and analysis of performance metrics.
  • Writing reports and scientific papers.

 

Minimum profile required

  • PhD in Sustainable Energy Systems or similar.
  • Competences on using energy systems modelling tools.
  • Programming skills (Python, MATLAB, etc.).
  • Autonomous and teamwork ability.

 

Preference factors

  • Competences on energy systems analysis.
  • Competences on decarbonization policies analysis.
  • Competencies on energy systems optimization.

 

Maintenance stipend: € 1801,00, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants , paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.

 

INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms established in the internal document: "Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders".

 

The grant holder will benefit from health insurance, supported by INESC TEC.
