Position Summary:
The Mining and Mineral Engineering (http://cem.uaf.edu/min) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor starting fall 2021. The position requires a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, developing a strong research program and obtaining research funding, publishing in peer-reviewed publications, and performing service. Candidates must have a BS degree in Mining Engineering or similarly named engineering field, preferably from an ABET accredited program, and a PhD degree Mining Engineering or related field prior to beginning the job. The program offers an ABET-accredited BS degree, and MS and PhD degrees. UAF (www.uaf.edu) is the major research campus in the University of Alaska system and hosts several research institutes. Fairbanks, a modern and close-knit community with approximately 100,000 residents, is located in Interior Alaska between the Alaska and Brooks mountain ranges and is noted for its scope of unique outdoor activities. We seek candidates who will strengthen our degree programs through quality teaching and research and appreciate the unique geography and climate of Interior Alaska.
