Advanced Manufacturing Research Initiative
The College of Engineering is pleased to announce eight openings for tenure-track faculty in advanced manufacturing across a variety of disciplines. These openings are part of a multidisciplinary, university-wide, multi-year commitment to establish the University of Nevada, Reno as an international leader in advanced manufacturing research. Advanced manufacturing has been a priority in the College of Engineering for the past several years, and the College plans to add up to 16 positions in advanced manufacturing over the next four years. The availability of these positions are contingent on available funding.
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field by 07/01/2019, expertise in sensor networks and their application in the manufacturing environment. The ability to develop a robust externally funded research program, teach graduate and undergraduate courses, supervise graduate students, and engage in outreach activities.
To accommodate substantial growth in both student enrollment and tenure-track faculty positions, the College of Engineering has started construction of a new engineering building, scheduled to be completed in 2020. The new engineering building provides modern facilities capable of supporting high-tech research and laboratory space. This building will allow the College to pursue its strategic vision, serve Nevada and the nation, and educate future generations of engineering professionals.
