Work description

You will be working within a small team, extending the limits of the state of the art, and contributing to applied research initiatives, regarding the design, prototyping and evaluation of technologies to promote health and autonomy in its management, in the context of the Health from Portugal project.

This includes:

  1. Collaborating with partners to assess project needs and objectives and develop actionable plans to drive research and engineering outcomes.
  2. Extension and valorization of previous research results.
  3. Mentoring software engineering researchers, including graduate and undergraduate students.
  4. Communicating intermediate and final research results, including presentations and publication in conferences and journals.

 

Academic Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. in Software Engineering or in a closely related discipline

 

Minimum profile required

  • A proven record of articles published in reputable peer-reviewed software engineering conferences and journals.
  • Experience conducting empirical studies in software engineering.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering in general, including teamwork and managing scope and expectations in software projects.
  • Research experience on the topic of Developer Experience (DX).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required.

 

Preference factors

  • Research experience in one or more of the topics: Agile Methods, Code Review, CI/CD, Platform Engineering and Software Patterns.
  • Training or experience in psychology.
  • Experience in the health domain and data visualization.

 

Maintenance stipend: € 1801,00, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants , paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.

 

INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms established in the internal document: "Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders".

 

The grant holder will benefit from health insurance, supported by INESC TEC.
