The Engineering Management and Systems Engineering Department at Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Missouri seeks nominations and applications for the Bernard R. Sarchet Endowed Professorship in Engineering Management. This endowed professorship is named in honor of Professor Sarchet who founded the engineering management program in Rolla and is widely recognized as the founder of the academic field of engineering management. Professor Sarchet was also the co-founder of the American Society of Engineering Management.
The successful candidate will have exhibited the ability to build and maintain a successful externally funded research program and a strong record of scholarly publications in internationally recognized journals, including those with a focus on engineering management, systems engineering, industrial engineering, management of technology, program management, strategic management, supply chain management, and operations. Superior communication and interpersonal skills, leadership capabilities in engineering management at the national level, the ability to lead collaborative and interdisciplinary research, and the ability to motivate and inspire undergraduate and graduate students are also required attributes. Practical technical management experience will be considered an important asset. A PhD in a related field is required along with at least one degree in engineering, hard science, or applied mathematics. The position provides an attractive start-up package and annual stipend in addition to a competitive salary. The planned start date for appointment is fall semester 2023.
