The College of Aeronautics and Engineering (CAE) at Kent State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Aerospace Engineering/Aeronautics/Aviation Management/Aviation Logistics to support the college’s programs. The specific area of interest includes, but is not limited to, information-based modeling and optimization for aviation logistical flow patterns and distribution, decision analysis, domestic and international operations security, business and social responsibility in aerospace logistics, resilience and reliability modeling, and economic modeling of air transportation organizations.
Kent State’s College of Aeronautics and Engineering comprises a unique synergy of aeronautics, engineering, and technologies, thereby enabling researchers to easily collaborate across these areas to tackle our nation’s and world’s greatest challenges. The College is perfectly positioned to advance research in the broad area of Aviation Management and Logistics, given our comprehensive set of aeronautics and engineering programs, and our state-of-the-art facilities, including the Kent State University Airport, our fleet of aircraft and UAS, ATC simulators, and flight simulators.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded research program, teach and develop courses at undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise research students at these levels, and participate in collegiate and professional service activities. The successful candidate will be expected to embrace collaborative research activities within the college as well as across the university.

Minimum Qualifications: We seek candidates for this position who have (or will have prior to start of employment) a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline (e.g., Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautics, Aviation Management, Aviation Logistics), or closely related disciplines as appropriate. Candidates should have credentials commensurate with teaching undergraduate and/or graduate classes in aeronautics and/or engineering (both teaching and supervising students), demonstrating scholarly impact, and demonstrating the ability to participate in and build a quality research program (including participation in research proposal development).
