This search is open-rank. The preferred start date is Sept. 1, 2020 or sooner. We seek candidates demonstrating exceptional innovation and creativity and who are interested in areas that align with or support the CEE Department’s Strategic Plan which identifies five strategic directions: human habitat experience, adaptation, shaping resource flows, autonomy and smart infrastructure finance. Areas of interest for this position include, but are not limited to: energy geotechnics, bio-geotechnics, natural and man-made hazard mitigation, resilience, site characterization and the coupling of experimental and computational geotechnics.

To be considered for this position, a PhD (or equivalent) degree or enrollment in a PhD-granting program is required at the time of application. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate the potential to leverage existing disciplinary strengths within the CEE department, a capacity to collaborate with researchers in other departments and colleges across the University, and show abilities to translate fundamental advances into practice. At associate and full professor levels, a strong record of teaching and mentoring students in courses that complement the CEE undergraduate and graduate curricula, and a development of new courses, is expected.
