A PhD position is available immediately in the Computational and Theoretical Multiphysics Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Florida State University (https://eng.famu.fsu.edu/me). Research projects will involve interdisciplinary computational investigations of facemasks.

The following skills/certifications/interests are relevant to the positions: – Creativity and interest in interdisciplinary research – An undergraduate degree in engineering (especially mechanical, or civil) or related fields (applied mathematics, computational physics). Candidates who have already obtained a master’s degree are strongly encouraged to apply. – Previous research experience is highly desirable. Desirable research skills include computational fluid dynamics, machine learning background and programming (Fortran and C++). – Strong oral and written communication skills.
