The Electrical & Computer Engineering Department invites applications and nominations for the 9-month tenure track position of Assistant Professor. A Tenure track faculty member is expectedto be excellent teacher, develop strong funded research programs, and be an active team member to advance the department and achieve its strategic plan. In addition, serve as a mentor to students, work with colleagues to assess and improve curricula and demonstrate institutional citizenship through active engagement at the department, college, university, community, andprofessional levels.
ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT:
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is one of five engineering departments in the College of Engineering at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. It has a very strong ABETaccredited undergraduate program, a growing graduate program and a well-established research enterprise that continues to grow and is associated with several R&D centers.
The University is the largest in the University of Louisiana System with about 850 faculty members and over 19,000 students, including undergraduates, graduates, and non-degree seekers. TheUniversity is designated by the Carnegie Foundation, as an R1 University - “Research University with Very High Research Activity.”

QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in electrical or computer engineering. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in smart systems, secure systems, smart grids, Robotics,Embedded Systems, Smart Instrumentation, Intelligent Hardware Systems, Smart Medical Devices, Renewable Energy, Advanced Microelectronics, other related fields and/or cross areas.Successful candidates must be committed to working effectively with diverse student populations. Applicants are expected to describe their commitment to fostering a diverse educational environment through their research, teaching, and/or service activities.
