The Computational Mechanics and Multiphysics of Materials Research Laboratory (CM3RL) in the Gerald May Department of Civil, Construction & Environmental Engineering at the University of New Mexico invites PhD applications in the fields of concrete modeling, concrete aging and durability, fracture mechanics, and multiscale multiphysics modeling of building materials and energy-related materials. The successful applicant should have a master degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, applied mechanics, applied mathematics, or other relevant disciplines, and is expected to have some background in computational mechanics and be proficient in code development. The application package should include a cover letter, a full CV, and one relevant publication (if applicable). Applicants should send the application package to Dr. Madura Pathirage (mpathirage@unm.edu). The lab is always searching for talented and strongly motivated researchers. Externally supported undergraduate and master students are welcome to join our research team.
