The Additive Manufacturing and Intelligent Systems Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Central Florida (UCF) has one position for a Ph.D. student and one position for a Postdoc fellow in Fall 2024 or Spring 2025. The research focus of this lab is to develop new computational methods and tools for intelligent manufacturing systems and additive manufacturing processes using sensing and data analytics technologies. Example research thrust areas include (1) data-driven smart manufacturing; (2) real-time manufacturing process monitoring, diagnostics, and prognostics; and (3) additive manufacturing of metals, composites, and polymers. Students with background in mechanical engineering, materials science, industrial engineering, engineering mechanics, and computer science are highly encouraged to apply.
