APPOINTMENT:
Three (3) faculty positions in Architecture and Construction Management
School of Design + Construction, Washington State University

The School of Design + Construction (SDC) at Washington State University (WSU) invites applications for (3) full-time positions including:

Assistant or Associate Professor (tenure track) in Architecture with a focus on core professional degree courses as well as other SDC classes when required. The candidate must have the ability to translate research into teaching in both studio and non-studio core professional program courses in the architecture core curriculum and contribute to one or more of the strategic research areas of the SDC.

Assistant Professor (tenure track) in Construction Management with a focus on interdisciplinary BIM/VDC teaching and research. Duties for this position are also to teach courses central to the core construction management curriculum in the B.S. Construction Management program.

Assistant Professor (tenure track OR career track) in Construction Management with a focus on teaching course central to the core CM professional curriculum (i.e. materials and methods, project management, cost accounting, estimating, scheduling, etc.) If tenure track, the position will include conducting interdisciplinary research in one or more of the strategic areas.

The SDC is comprised of accredited academic degree programs in Architecture (B.S + M.Arch NAAB), Construction Management (B.S. ACCE + CM minor), Interior Design (B.A. CIDA + M.A. Research), Landscape Architecture (BLA LAAB), Construction Engineering with the Department of Civil Engineering (B.S. ABET), and emerging certificate programs and a Master of Science in Building Science with Departments in Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The School is committed to being the premier destination for integrated design and construction education in the nation. The collaborative make-up of the School enables faculty to work with students from different disciplines in an integrated environment with the goal of promoting and increasing effectiveness within the professions. The SDC is home to student teaching labs including fabrication maker spaces, a BIM lab and the Trimble Technology Lab, and to faculty research labs. Visit Facilities for more information.

Interdisciplinary and collaborative opportunities for both teaching and research also extend throughout the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture, (VCEA) especially with the Composite Materials & Engineering Center (http://www.cmec.wsu.edu/), the Integrated Design + Construction Laboratory (https://idcl.wsu.edu/), and the Departments of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Mechanical and Materials Engineering, and Electrical Engineering & Computer Science.
