The Computer Engineering program at York College of Pennsylvania invites applications for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Computer Engineering to begin in May or August 2020. Technical areas of interest include embedded system design/development and digital hardware design.
The successful candidate will teach a variety of undergraduate computer engineering courses to engineering and computer science majors. Faculty often oversee independent study projects, senior design projects and teach special topics courses in their specialization area. Faculty are also active in curriculum and laboratory development.
In addition to other professional development and scholarly activities, faculty often include undergraduate students in technical and pedagogical research.
York College is a teaching-focused institution. Our Computer Engineering program is characterized by small class sizes, extensive student/faculty interactions and a focus on hands-on and project-based learning. Students acquire three semesters of professional engineering experience through our mandatory co-operative education program.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering or a closely related field. Candidates must have the interest and ability to teach a broad range of undergraduate engineering courses. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the potential for outstanding teaching, advising and scholarly activity. Candidates with either prior teaching experience or industry experience are highly valued.
