The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (IMSE) in the College of Engineering at Iowa State University (ISU) invites nominations and applications for two full-time open positions of tenure-track Assistant Professor with a scholarly focus in Operations Research and Analytics. Both positions are expected to begin in August 2025. Exceptional candidates with commensurate experience and proven track record will be considered for tenure and advanced rank of Associate Professor. The successful applicants will be participating in all aspects of the department’s mission, including developing a strong externally funded research program, teaching and supervising students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and participating in service to the university and profession.

Required Qualifications 

  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in industrial engineering or a closely aligned field
  • Associate Professor candidates must also meet the university standards for appointment to the rank, including significant experience/accomplishments in the candidate’s area of expertise

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Evidence of ability to establish an independent research program in operations research and analytics
  • Evidence of ability or potential for teaching excellence in operations research and analytics
  • Evidence of collaboration in research and education
