Open Position: Geoenvironmental Engineering PhD Graduate Research Assistant

We are seeking a PhD student to work in a funded graduate research assistant (GRA) position at Villanova University. The GRA will perform experimental research in bentonite-based barrier systems for protection of human health and the environment, with potential focus on contaminant transport and coupled phenomena in clays, enhanced bentonites, and/or development of novel geoenvironmental laboratory test methods. Candidates should have an M.S. in Civil Engineering or a related field (must be completed at the time of hire), and experience in geotechnical laboratory testing.
The GRA will work in a team of other graduate students and mentor undergraduate researchers. The GRA will also participate in regular professional activities through the Villanova Center for Resilient Water Systems (VCRWS).
