The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at The University of Alabama invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions across all domains relevant to chemical and biological engineering.  Candidates with particular research emphasis and interests in the areas of electrochemical engineering, biomaterials, bio/metabolic engineering, and additive/advanced manufacturing are strongly encouraged to apply.  The applicants should build upon and expand the strengths of our faculty (https://eng.ua.edu/departments/chemical-and-biological-engineering/), as well as the University of Alabama Research Institutes (http://ovpred.ua.edu/research-institutes/). Candidates will be considered for appointment at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor commensurate with experience and qualifications.  Candidates from under-represented groups in engineering are strongly encouraged to apply.

 

The department’s research portfolio has rapidly expanded over the last few years, along with an unprecedented growth in research funding and doctoral student enrollment.  The department prides itself in its highly interdisciplinary and collegial research atmosphere, as well as its thriving undergraduate program.  Extensive collaboration opportunities exist within the department and across campus.

 

Applicants must have an earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in chemical engineering or a closely related field. Application packages must be submitted electronically and should consist of a cover letter, CV, statements of research and teaching interests, and contact information for at least three references. Applications will be accepted and reviewed continuously until the positions are filled with an expected start date of August 2023.
