The Department of Computer Science is seeking top faculty candidates for tenure and tenure-track positions as part of a $100 million recruiting initiative known as "Destination Vanderbilt.” The program is designed to add faculty leaders and rising stars in the field at all ranks over and above normal hiring patterns. In the first two years of the initiative, the CS department welcomed fourteen new distinguished faculty members. Destination Vanderbilt aspires to propel the CS department to one of the leading academic programs nationally and beyond.

Successful candidates are expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to develop and grow vigorous programs of externally funded research. Successful candidates come from broadly defined areas of computer science that enhance our research strengths in areas aligned with the priorities of the Vanderbilt University School of Engineering and the university overall:

1. Autonomous and Intelligent Human-AI-Machine Systems and Urban Environments

2. Computing and AI for Health, Medicine, and Surgery

3. Cybersecurity and Resilience
