The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a full-time faculty position. Qualified candidates at assistant professor/associate professor will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments. We seek a candidate to build a reputable independent research program in Aerodynamics. In this general area, we are particularly interested in innovative flow control approaches, innovative approaches to improve aerodynamic efficiency, shaping for advanced air mobility, boundary layer dynamics, and aerodynamic design methodologies. Other sub-areas of expertise within the general area will also be considered. The successful candidate will develop and lead a sustainable, innovative, independent research program, will publish impactful research in top-ranked, field-related refereed journals, and will build reputation nationally and internationally to elevate UAEU’s international reputation. The successful candidate will have strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching and education, including but are not limited to, developing courses enhance our undergraduate and graduate programs, mentoring students. Successful candidates will have access to advanced laboratory facilities, opportunities for internal research funding, and collaboration with Centers of Excellence. UAEU is renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and research innovation. Minimum Qualification

Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field from an internationally recognized university at the time of appointment or shortly thereafter. Research track-record commensurate with the rank applied for. The ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses is a must.

Preferred Qualification

B.Sc./B.Eng. degree in Aerospace Engineering preferred. Industrial and professional experience is a plus. Expertise in Aerodynamics. In this general area, we are particularly interested in innovative flow control approaches, innovative approaches to improve aerodynamic efficiency, shaping for advanced air mobility, boundary layer dynamics, and aerodynamic design methodologies.
