INESC TEC is now accepting grant applications to award 2 Research Initiation Grant (BII) with the reference ATLANTIS funded by CE, project (reference 871571).

GRANT DESCRIPTION
Type of grant: Research Initiation Grant (BII)
General scientific area: ENGINEERING
Scientific subarea: Computer engineering
Grant duration: 5 months 15 days, starting on 2023-01-16.
Scientific advisor: Andry Maykol Pinto
Workplace: INESC TEC, Porto, Portugal
Maintenance stipend: € 486,12, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores), paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend. INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms established in the internal document: "Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders". The grant holder will benefit from health insurance, supported by INESC TEC.

OBJECTIVES:
Expand knowledge of the state of the art in the specific scientific area of the Grant Identify and select the appropriate methods for the study Develop research capacity through the application of selected methods. Exercise critical thinking in evaluating the research process and the results obtained.

BRIEF PRESENTATION OF THE WORK PROGRAMME AND TRAINING:
Study on AUV (autonomous underwater vehicles) state of the art. Support in the development of an AUV, in electronic and electromechanical components. Programming of actuation and interface algorithms. Support in experimentation.

REQUIRED PROFILE:
Admission requirements:
Graduation in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or similar areas. The awarding of the fellowship is dependent on the applicants' enrolment in study cycle or non-award courses of Higher Education Institutions.

Preference factors:
Experience in hardware development and programming (C/C++ and/or Python).
